SMART use as a acronym to pull you through your work not apart.
Working Smarter
You'd think I'd have a better picture above to captivate your attention. Well because it was outrageous it made you focus and think in new ways. Working smarter is all about finding new ways not bettering old ways but efficiency. Eliminating batting away unnecessary folly. Having uncommon sense is your smartness in this day and age. A indirect cue like a picture helps pull you through the day. No picture is gonna ever be perfect so stop just getting through the day and actually living it. As Benjamin Franklin puts it, "Dont put of until tomorrow what you can do today."
Working smarter is all about attention. You have things that seem outrageous like a timer, advanced work environment, earbuds, outrageous stuff like a cryotherapy chamber in your office that helps you focus. Your shivering, excitement, or even working out of fear is whats grabbing your attention. You mentally can't work but you can type do tasks like write emails, watch cat videos all things one by one that make it appear as if your working. The more your trained at working the more you can work. Working is not something you have it's something you do. Using the SMART acronym your about to pick your brain on is a helper in making you focus, do, not just existing, but truly living.
SMART
Pomodoros, Deep Breathing, Wim Hof Breathing, Music, Exercise etc is what I've dived into and haven't swam out off in order to work smarter.
S – Specific (or Significant).
M – Measurable (or Meaningful).
A – Attainable (or Action-Oriented).
R – Relevant (or Rewarding).
T – Time-bound (or Trackable).
For example, instead of having "to sail around the world" as a goal, it's more powerful to use the SMART goal "To have completed my trip around the world by December 31, 2027." Obviously, this will only be attainable if a lot of preparation has been completed beforehand!
Why it Works
Working is about attention and continuing attention to eventually reach a goal which leads into another goal. When you have smart goals you have smarter focus and better use of your time. Business life is a big aspect to set big goals in than micro goals to reach those big goals. Legitimately working toward a reward means more focus and working smarter it's all about efficiency and focus. If you dont have a system (like the SMART mnemonic) you have nothing to build upon. Using this mnemonic is just the start for working smarter as technology keeps advancing. Pound this into your life and keep tracking and doing more meaningful things. Their is no one size fits all when it comes to working smarter. Though you could say for everyone consistency, congruence, competence, etc are all major players in working smarter. Though just sticking with the fundamentals like having a realistic attainable everyday habit your working toward comes out on top. Master working SMART than other acronyms, research, innovating to accelerate your life. Already if your really up to it you'll be at least 10% more productive by reading this. "Intention without action is impact less."
